Valentine Njoroge

Valentine’s career in the financial services sector has given her experiences in Microfinance, Private Wealth Management and Venture Capital Investments. Working in these fields allowed her to see gaps in entrepreneur financing and investment options for investors who want to participate in the growing SME economy. This led her to found Mradifund, an online fundraising company which enables entrepreneurs to raise expansion capital from several investors across the globe. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics from Drexel University, PA, USA.

Lucy Njoroge

Lucy is widely experienced in leading companies to soaring heights. She was previously the Managing Director at OpenView Business Systems which realized tremendous growth under her leadership before its acquisition by Access Kenya Group. She is widely traveled and therefore well versed with the operations of multinational organizations. Lucy has a bachelor’s degree in Education from Moi University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the United States International University. She is currently the Managing Director of XRX Technologies and is a Non-Executive Director at BOC Gases Kenya. Previously she served as a board member for KWFT- Kenya women Finance Trust and Quadco Six- an investment company.

Chris Getonga

Chris is credited with modernizing the provision of quality health service delivery in Kenya through Acacia Medical Services which runs outpatient health facilities, staffed by independent doctors in private practice and resourced with modern medical diagnostic equipment, laboratory and pharmacy facilities. Chris was also behind the success of one of Kenya’s largest and most profitable pharmaceutical retail brands, Mimosa Pharmacy, which was recently acquired by a new operator in the region. Chris has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Finance from Syracuse University, NY, USA. He serves on the board of directors of AMREF Flying Doctors as well as the New Dawn Trust Fund, an educational fund for disadvantaged students from low-income families and communities.


Maurice Ndunaru

Maurice is an investment professional with experience in various countries worldwide. He has taken on several transactions as an investment advisor for both individuals and institutions. He oversaw Acumen’s agri-business investments in the East Africa region and represented the fund on the boards of investee companies as diverse as IT and seed maize manufacturing. Maurice was involved in enough transactions while at Acumen to warrant making Business Daily’s Top 40 Under 40 list in 2012. Maurice holds a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s of Science degree in Financial Engineering from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, CA, USA. He serves on the advisory board of the Kikuyu Constituency Educational Foundation and also serves on the executive committee of the Alliance High School Old Boys Club.
